Welcome to Freshford Church School. It is an absolute privilege to be the Headteacher for such a vibrant, caring, and dynamic learning community.

In the heart of the beautiful village of Freshford outside of the City of Bath, our school is defined by a strong sense of connection: to each other, to our local surroundings, and to the wider world. As well as Freshford, our school serves the villages of Limpley Stoke, Midford and Hinton Charterhouse. We may be a small school, but we are mighty in our aspirations to make learning come alive in meaningful and memorable ways and in our pursuit of creative thinking that encourages children to become compassionate citizens who carry within them the power to make a difference in the world.

We believe that real learning is a deeply human experience; relationships are at the heart of this so that every child can be seen, heard and known and so valued for who they are. Through passion, dedication, expertise and a spirit of adventure, the Freshford teaching team aim to build that relationship with the trust and confidence your child needs for day-to-day risk-taking and resilience. We know we must hear a child’s voice so that they can fully experience the joy of learning with an open heart.

At the centre of our work is our Big Question curriculum, designed to ignite curiosity and encourage children to explore meaningful ideas about the world with a thread that connects across their journey with us through our 5 mixed age classes.
