Safeguarding at Freshford
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Ruth Poole (Headteacher)
Our Designated Deputy Safeguarding Lead is Louisa Kile (EY Lead)
The School Governor with Safeguarding Responsibility is Joanne Neenan
If you are concerned about a child’s welfare or worried they are being abused please contact one of the safeguarding team in school. Alternatively, you can make direct contact with the Local Authority.
In line with our safeguarding policy and statutory guidance we have clear procedures in school for responding to any concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing.
Our school is secure during the day, so all visitors are asked to report to the main office. Please be mindful that for everybody’s safety, identification procedures will be carried out. A copy of the procedure is displayed in the office for your information.
All members of staff are vetted against national safeguarding procedures before being allowed to work in school. At least one member of every interview panel has undertaken safer recruitment training to ensure that best practices and all necessary checks are carried out.
Volunteers, regular parent volunteers, outside agency staff and students will also be required to apply for and supply their DBS or, in the case of an agency or educational establishment, a letter of compliance.
Online Safety
Keeping your children safe online – Information for Parents
This guidance is to support you to keep your children safe online. This is especially important for you in the current situation where children are accessing their learning online and using technology as a form of socialising and communication.
The most important thing you can do is talk to your children about what they do online and how they can stay safe.
You can also help to keep them safe online by having parental controls set up and monitoring what your children are accessing online.
